... and it pretty much sums up my week completely. This week has been an endless array of spreadsheets, meetings, talks, summaries and note-taking, as well as the ever-vital testing out of new signatures:
So I am ready for the weekend! It's going to be better than this cat-wearing-a-frog slide that showed up halfway through the very serious PowerPoint presentation our VP was giving!
Why? Because this weekend is my writer's retreat! My writing partners-in-crime Corrie and Ghenet and I, along with one of Ghenet's other crit-partners, are venturing into the wilds of the Poconos to the tiny cabin we have rented for a long President's Day weekend of writing, reading, eating and drinking (mostly tea, but probably some vino as well, because, hey, it's not a writer's retreat without some booze, right Hemingway?).
At the moment I'm approximately 15,000 words from the end of super-sekrit-WIP, so hopefully I can at least get another 5k towards the climax this weekend!*
Hope you all have fun plans for the 3-day weekend. And if you don't, remember! Marathons of Arrested Development count as fun too. Not that I have recently become addicted to this show. Or watched the first 2 seasons in as many weeks. Cough.
* man, writing lingo sounds dirty sometimes...
WOO TO THE HOOO! It's been a long week for me too so I cannot. wait.
ReplyDeleteMy husband's going away for 3-4 days next week, so I'm doing an at-home retreat, yay! Invited crit partners over, if they need to get away from home but still be close enough if they're needed. Best of both worlds!

ReplyDeleteI wish I had a 3-day weekend, but, mine is the usual 1-day weekend followed by another day off later this week.
