(at the bridge of sighs. teehee. i r so witty)
But for me, one of the most exciting moments was the plane ride home. "Huh?" you're saying. I know. Usually flights home suck.
This one was greatly improved by receiving some awesome news upon landing. One thing, that was supermegacrazyawesome, I cannot divulge as of yet. The other thing, however, I can talk about!
I reached the quarter-finals of the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Contest. EEEEE!!!!
That means my book has its own page on Amazon.com. With reviews! By actual reviewers (though the professional reviews aren't visible yet, only the customer ones). Oh yeah, and people can download the excerpt I submitted and leave reviews! Almost like a real book! Ha :)
Anyway, if you're up for it, you can read my pitch and the excerpt here and leave a review! I'll love you foreverrrr (and if you don't like it, it doesn't have to be a good review ;) I mean, obviously I hope everyone loves it including the judges, but I'm all for honesty!).
Meanwhile, this round is being judged by Publisher's Weekly. EEK. And also awesome. And slightly scary... But in a good way!
Hope the rest of your two weeks have been great! I loved being computer-free for a couple of weeks (because it's been a looong time since I went totally a-technological), but I also missed blog-stalking everybody... Not that i'm addicted. Cough.
Anyway, expect more coherent posts next week! Right now I am still unpacking, doing laundry, and marveling at how wonderfully strange the world is...
Congrats on making it through to the next round in the ABNA :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Ellen!
ReplyDeleteSo jealous! Someday I'll go to Italy. :) And congrats, how exciting!

ReplyDeleteWoohoo! Love the pic! Glad you enjoyed your trip, and I'm heading over to do some reading and reviewing. :)
ReplyDeleteYaaay! Congrats again!
ReplyDeleteAlso, ahem...as one of your crit partners...am I able to hear the other news before you tell the world? I want to know!!
Congratulations--for both shared and unspoken things! Going to Amazon right now--I've loved this book since I first saw samples on AW
