In the car with my dad on the way home:

Dad: So, you close to finishing a book anytime soon?

Me (largely understating actual expected deadline): Oh, I dunno. Maybe in a couple months or so.

Dad: Good grief! Well, some writers can write 'em fast, and others have to take their time, I guess.

Me (having already explained at least ten times in the past how even Stephen King averages like one or two books a year, and he's an uber-fast God of Writing): *sigh* Yeah, guess so...
