Unless you are like, Jeannette Walls or Rachel Simon*, chances are your life is probably not interesting enough to be a BOOK.
Maybe it could be a short story. Or maybe bits and pieces make good campfire storytelling, or make your friends laugh hysterically over the water cooler. But it's probably not a cohesive plot. Your life, like everyone's, is a random series of disconnected events.
HOWEVER. Sometimes, something happens that does lend itself to a story. Sometimes tiny pieces of our lives have a plot, and it's the kind of plot that keeps your friends asking "and then what happened?" late into the night.
... I like to think I might have this kind of story. I'm not really sure. But obviously I cared enough to write the whole thing. So... We'll see.
At any rate, time for me to stop rambling and clarifying things, and just tease already. Here's an excerpt from my memoir, < 3 (less than three)**:
SNIPPED!
* btw, her first novel (I ALMOST SAID FICTION NOVEL OMG FOR SHAME) The Story of a Beautiful Girl just hit the NYT Bestseller list. Check out her fantastic post about celebrating here!
** also, while you're here, is that title too weird? I mean, I know the artist formerly known as Prince got away with a symbol for a name, and considering how much the internet works into this story, that and the pun on "less than three" makes it a perfect title I think, but... it is a bit odd. like this whole project. SIGH. angst. etc. :P***
*** Also, I tried to make the little heart thing (you know, with the less than sign, and then the 3), but Blogger appears to not like this. It thinks it is some kind of html code, which I failed to write, so it just makes it invisible. SIGH. But anyway. Imagine there is a little heart before that title. ahem.
I really enjoyed reading this! You have a great writing style. I especially loved the last line. I don't think the title is too weird. I wouldn't stress about it too much :)
