The People Hath Spoken

I'm back! Ish! From a long weekend in Rhode Island and a long week of frantically attempting to catch up with the work that piled up in my absence.

My trip was a glorious, sun-filled experience, wherein Technogoddess, her faithful sidekick and I discovered many of the important Rhode Island must-see sites! Including, but not limited to:

What is probably the car from Deathproof! (complete with duct-taped doors and rolls of duct tape for cup-holders. and spray-painted interior decor)

The largest mixed-drink ever! Aptly named the Godzilla. Don't worry, I had help conquering this beast.

Melting Pot. If you have never been, locate one near you. IMMEDIATELY. Best 4-course fondue dinner you'll ever eat. And totally worth the jacked-up prices, I swear.

There were also about 800 pictures from the ghost tour we went on, because I was hoping to catch something weird on film. I will spare you those. Mostly because they're still on Technogoddess's sidekick's camera, which I do not have access to. Cough.

In other news, the long-standing poll wherein I badgered you all to help me decide what to write next because I am supremely indecisive has closed! The results are on the sidebar.
Verrrryyyyy interesting.... For most of the time, the steampunk story about assassins was far in the lead... But at the last minute, a slew of votes for the horror story about a ghost hunter gave us a tie! So clearly I'm not the only indecisive one. I feel better now. ;)
Also, contemporary ideas were not so popular. Hmm...

  1. I want a Godzilla! I have always wanted to go to a Melting Pot. We have one around here. But we haven't gone yet.

  2. OMG you so should. it's amaaaazing. I know it's pricey, but for that once-every-few-months date night, it's perfect ;)

  3. We have a Mmmmmmmmmelting Pot right here on the Main Street of my town (Louisville, Colorado) and it's my kids' favorite place for their special occasions. So awesome!

I voted for the steampunk because my son, who does not like to read, reads steampunk. So I will buy that without hesitation.

Glad you had fun - sounds like you got some material for the ghost-hunting book...

(You know "hath" is singular, right?) ;)

  5. I voted early on for the ghost hunter girl, because it instantly brings to mind possible scenes: catching a ghost (duh), locating said ghost, being hired or otherwise inveigled into hunting a ghost, having to fight off ghostly shenanigans. Plus you get the idea that a girl who hunts ghosts has to be pretty badass, so there's also a lot of character conveyed through her, uh, profession.
